nice kit. First Strata Red Vision I've seen. I do see some issues concerning your set-up. I think the kick should be off the floor a little more, and all that weight going into the top can't be helping either. But if it works for you then great!

I like the strata red, but I really like the white bass drum reso. Did you put on the "Pearl" logo yourself?

I would have to agree, all that weight is probably not helping with the resonance of the bass drum.
Otherwise, very nice dude!! Love the Optimounts and are those Superhoops? Congrats and enjoy.....

guys, first off, thanks for the + feedback, much appreciated. Techdad, I purchased a vinyl logo off of ebay and placed it on the smooth white Evans EQ3. Cobra and TWH, I understand completely what you guys are saying about my rack being hooked up to the kick. Here's my thinking on that. I started doing this with my Tama kits when I began to gig frequently. It was an easy way for me to keep my set-up consistent, nothing moved. As for any resonance issues, it's been negligible, if any. This is my gigging kit and it's always close miked. I never had an issue in terms of weight with any of my Tama kits and to be quite honest, this kit seems to be built better than my Superstar EFX was. This is a very efficient way to keep my set-up/tear-down time as little as possible(LOL), and also a good way to keep my kit nice and tight, not to mention original.

TWH, Opti's and SupeHoops. The wait was worth it!

Yeah your setup is very original, and I'm all for an easier and consistent setup. I'd like to hear them with mics and EQ.
Got any clips?

That is one awesome kit!! They might as well put Opti's on everything except Forums.
Honestly, Pearl outdid themselves with the Visions, they are simply amazing.

^^ Optimounts are a well-worthwhile upgrade on the ECX, too.

Thanks for all the +'s guys, much appreciated! I definately feel the Opti's are an upgrade that Pearl needs to seriously consider for the Visions and the ECX. I also added SuperHoops but I guess that could be a toss-up. I almost went ECX but The Visions had the little things I really liked. ECX has the great shells but for some reason the Visions struck me as the higher grade kit. I also own a Sessions so that also swayed my decision. I'll say this, with the Opti's and SupeHoops, I feel I have a pro-level kit.

Love the kit mate, too often you will get comments here on the way you set up your kit.....ignore them, a drum kit and the set up is personal, set up the way the player feels comfortable. YOu go ahead and enjoy your wonderful kit mate, I wish you all the best.
Good luck and enjoy.
Thanks for posting the pics.
