Pretty sure I know the answer to this but can you order a Vision kick without the tom bracket? I know you can with the ECX line.

As of now, nope. You can, however, get a baseplate that is like a badge that covers up the hole that the tom bracket makes. That's what I'm going to do.

Massmusic is not on it.They cost $15.00 plus shipping unless you get it from your music store.Keep in mind it is plastic not aluminium.Since i am a journeyman sheet metal worker Im going to have own made and powder coated.

Plastic? Kinda lame. Hopefully, Pearl will offer that option in the near future. Good luck with your custom plate. Post some pics when you get a chance.

It is metal w/rubber backing.

The BBC-1 includes a top thin plated metal with Pearl logo, a bottom plate gasket with mounting screws.


To answer the original question posted, you cannot order a Vision VLX or VSX kick drum without the BB-3 mount. You can however on the ECX and MCX series.

Even though that is not an option, I'm still looking forward to placing my order for a 6 piece clear birch setup. Can't wait!

hehe funny because my BBC-1 masking plate is made of some kind of plastic :eek:

It may appear like plastic, but it isn't... One only has to touch it and see that it is a better conductor of heat than plastic...

yeah, because the point of kits in that price range is to not be 'custom'. (even though competitors may offer the option.)
