I have 16" and 18" Alchemy Pro A.R.T. crashes. The regular A.R.T. series features black hollow logos, and as opposed to the Pro A.R.T. series, the A.R.T.'s are not hand-hammered. They sound more clean and focused than the Pro A.R.T.'s, but they still sound nothing like any "big 3" cymbals. They are less bright than most intermediate cymbals. They sound pretty decent; they are intermediate level cymbals. 80 bucks for the hats and ride is a great deal.

I have A.R.T.s and the ride I find is harsh and pingy. Very one dimensional over tones two, with little trashiness or complexity. The crash is on the verge of that glassy sound, but not quite. It does cut through nicely. The best of the line IMO.
The hats I find choke really easily, and require a light foot when closing. Really sloshy clean sound though when played half open and have a strong gliss. They do cut through a mix well though.
The rides bell is sharp and edge does have a washy sound when played. It is crashable, but you really have to lay into it to get a good sound. Its ping is strong and defined, but if your like me and like darker or trashier cymbals, this isn't a good choice.

I've had the whole A.R.T. set. I think it's one of the best choices as far as lower series of cymbals go (I found them a lot better than ZBT's or B8's. Hell, I liked them better than B8Pro's).
The hats sound really nice, they are very focused when closed and loud and glassy when opened. And by loud I mean LOUD. Also very bright and cutting. They'll easily cut through any wall of sound. The ride, however, lacks the strong focus that I like. It's pingy, but has a big amount of wash, which can be a problem in some situations. Again, a very bright cymbal. The best thing about it is its bell - loud, defined, cutting.

If you're more into darker tones (or want to play jazz), I'd look for something else. But if you want a bright, glassy sound - go for it, you won't be disappointed :).
