Dude, the Vision is awesome. I got my vision and it sounds awesome. I recommend that everyone should invest in one. I would go to www.massmusic.net and check them out because when u perchase one that gift you a 100$ gift certificate to shop there if u buy one. I just had surgery and can't play mine and its pissin me off pretty bad haha. U should totally get one.

Too bad mm doesn't sell shell packs. If you buy a Vision from them you have to pay for a bunch of hw also.

true, but most people shopping for this kit need the hardware anyway.

Actually, massmusic sells the visions with hw. Maybe not other high end sets, but the visions come with the full set of 900 series hardware.

musicians friend sells the shell packs...so does sam ash.

i just figured most people shopping for a kit in this range would need the hardware, hence why it comes with it and maybe replace the pedal and/or hi hat eventually.

if i already had stands....unless there was a color that i HAd to have, i'd get an mcx or a starclassic.

A MCX 4 pc shell pack (no snare) is $1500, a VLX 5pc is $650.

true. but i'm just saying that if i already had great hardware and pedals and such, i would have more elbow room with regards to what type of kit i play and what kind of snare i want.

i think the visions is a great drumkit and will more than likely be my next set...because i'm at a total loss for hardware and cant fathom the cost of buying a shell pack/snare over 1200 usd and STILL needing the hardware on top of it.

but i figure that unless your kit was in a freak accident and only your drums got destroyed and not the hardware, MOST people who still had the hardware itself would probably just get a better shell pack, unless, for example, they had a great maple kit and just wanted a nice little birch kit at a doable price.
