very nice! but with the amount of cymbals you have, you need a nice ICON

A rack would definetly fit your kit well, but from my experience using ANY rack doesn't really save you time during set-up and transport like everybody wants you to believe. I actually go back and forth between stands and my ICON depending on the gig and or how much I can manage to fit into my car. I wouldn't want to get stuck using the rack everytime if I only needed one cymbal and two rack toms for a smaller gig. It's just too much stuff to pack and move, even if you get a case for the ICON. (It's just as heavy, if not heavier than traditional stands with double braced legs.)

So to answer your poll - use both. I use the rack when my kit's at home, and then I take off all the cymbal booms, tom arms, and clamps and revert back to using tripods for most weekend gigs.

Well, I;m the only one who has voted the cumbal stands and not the rack because I like the whole forest of stands  There is nothing wrong with a rack, with some drums it can be really cool anyway!!

Just personal opinion...

i'm not a big fan of how the rack looks like but i think that in your kit its the best option

The new Pearl 900 series hardware is great, I don't see why you should get a rack instead.

Well i voted rack, but i usually say 5 piece drum set up are not big enough for a rack. However, considering that the ammount of cymbals you are using and how you like them placed. A rack would be a more cleaner and easier set up for you. I would also assume that youre going to be taking all these cymbals with you to a gig, and if so the rack is gonna save you some time for sure.

I actually go back and forth between stands and my ICON depending on the gig. Me. too. I use a rack if I'm playing a 6-piece or 7-piece setup, but for a jazz gig I might go to a 4 or 5 piece using 3 cymbals on 2 stands. No point in dealing with the rack for those times you don't need it.

Also, you may play in some venues where there's just not enough space for the rack -- small clubs, theatre pits, risers, etc.

It's good to own both and have a choice.

I dont like racks I think they look stupid so you know my answer.

The kit's not even big enough for a rack??

That's not a high amount of cymbals.

Looks like there's absolutely nothing wrong with how you have it now. I think buying a rack would be "breaking something thats not broken" (instead of fixing what's not broken). Racks can be even more of a pain to transport than stands. And with the awesome value of the 900 hardware in general, why would anyone want that to go to waste?

Rack? Save your time and money dude...

Especially since you have the BB-3, you might as well make use of it. Seriously... a rack isn't necessary. If you think they are 'cool' then that's another story I guess :p
Call me dumb but I can't see how your splashes are attached?!?!

I agree with the rack thing, I got the old dr1, jeff porcaro rack and with the ten clamps its a heavy monster, the only gain is i dont have to bend down much, a little better for my bad back, (Sciatica).
It does mean i can hang all my toms and cymbals amd looks great too!
