I'm really leaning towards a new VLX because of the price, hardware, and shell composition. Sold my 2002 7 piece ELX last year and have been searching for something that is a step up. If I do, it'll be a 6 piece "clear birch",.... which in my opinion is the best looking of all the Vision finishes. Sizes.......22, 12, 13, 16, 18.

MY Masterworks dream kit will just have to wait another year or two. LOL :rolleyes:

The only thing I do not like about the new Visions and ECX's are the bass drum hoops. I wish pearl would fully finish these like they used to. My ELX had fully finished hoops (painted on the inside and edges) and I think it really added to the overall quality of the drum.

I like the natural finish on the inside of the hoops. I guess if they were matching it prob would make em look more pro.

Each 2 there own. Pearl must have had a reason for doing it.

I here you. My old ELX had the fully finished hoops and it did make it look very professional. Almost all the mid range kits have natural on the inside anymore. The only ones I know of that are fully finished are Premier Cabria XPK and ddrum maple and ash dominion series.
