They are here now in my house! :D But being a busy father of two who also drums In a working band AND puts 40 to 50 hours a week in at work, I was only able to give these teaser pics. I plan on a blow by blow pictoral of the assembly of this awesome kit in this thread. as well as a video and a review at a later date.

When My sister-in-law gets here, I'll download the porn.
Here's my hardware/construction review, a sound review and possible video will come in a different thread.
Hardware: Every stand in the hardware pack are much like the 800 series with a few exceptions, All adjustments were smooth as silk and there are no meshing gears except for the boom stand tilter which is obvious for strength reasons. All hardware has a new look to tilters and rubber feet from the 800 series, as well as reversible nuts, so you can either have alot of play, or keep a tight hold on the cymbals.
Bass pedal: looks as good as It feels with plenty of adjustments, a dual beater and power shifter option.
Hi hat has nice smooth operation, and seems to have the same adjustment as 800 series only sturdier, and updated looks. I love this Hi-hat stand!
Snare stand's same as the hi-hat with updated look
the Tom arms work nice and don't have meshing gears like the rest of the hardware, but need a drumkey to adjust. this can be a pain if your witout a key. but the adjustment is limitless.
Some of you may remember me saying I can never get the any of the floor toms I've owned, But for some reason, I don't have that problem with the Vision's the tom legs must be longer.
The I.S.S. works nice and keeps a firm hold on the toms.
to be continued (for time constraint reasons) check back for update edits.

Drum construction review:
The drums are built very well. I think the black hardware looks cool inside the shells, And the reference style lugs with the brass inserts are smooth as silk and really hold a tune well
Where the joints of the shells meet, you can run your finger over and feel it a little, no big deal they are solid!
If I think of anything else, I'll let you know.
Let me know what you guys think, or If you have any questions.

O, cool I didn't realize that the Sensitones had tube lugs! Or is that your own Sensitone?

The hardware is VERY sturdy, And that Is my own classic II sensitone. It's one of the sensitone's from the run that came out like dirty old brass/greenish instead of the black nickle, And It looks pretty cool with the amber fade

Probs a dumb question...but did the drums come just shells and you had to put the rims, skins etc..on yourself? or did they come as complete drums where you dont have to screw things together.

It comes mixed just for packing needs.
If I remember correctly, the snare drum and small tom are assembled, and the kick and other 2 toms are seperated from the hoops and heads.
It's just the best way for them to efficiently pack them in the boxes.

Yeah mine had the two mounted toms assembled, And I put the rest together. The snare is still sealed In the box, for I'm going to sell it.

Hi man , congratulations!! , very nice kit
hey , what can you say about the 900 Pedal?
is better than the P-120?
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v697/weldrum/Picture006.jpg
weldrum
06-03-2007, 08:22 PM
They are probably similar, But I believe my pedal has more adjustments, like beater angle and power shifter, ect.
I think the 900 pedal is smoother and quieter than the P-120 too.

The video for sound purposes, Is going to take a few days. I need to buy a throne because everything in my house won't get as high up as I need to be comfortable. If I post a vid, I wan't It to be my playing! Be patient!

Hey, I'm looking for some light weight hardware that will stay sturdy, are the 900 series stands just that?
The Dorian
06-04-2007, 05:25 PM
The 900 hardware is just awesome. It's really sturdy, holds up real well. I wouldn't call it "light weight", but it's light enough.

I tuned them the other day, and was tapping them and what not. they all sound absolutley killer!! And the bass drum was my favorite! with no muffling what so ever, It absolutley floored me!! I love them truly and dearly.
You know, even though I don't have the throne yet, I could post something just striking each drum so everyone can hear them too. I'll tune them up nice and post something,(Not my playing!lol!) in the next day or two.

A clear reso WOULD look cool. the inner ply looks as good as the outer ply (without the finish of course!) and the black hardware that secures the lugs is hidden, and really does set off the inside nicely.
Or a clear reso ;)

Thanks for the pics - any recording is good recording! :)
Has that snare stand got a uni-lock style tilter? Way back in the day there was an intermediate-level snare stand with single-brace legs and a uni-lock style tilter... I bought the last one in the shop. If yours DOES have the uni-lock style tilter, that's good that they brought that feature back on a snare stand that doesn't cost as much as the 1000 or 2000 series.

Awesome. Definitely an excellent option so as not to spend money unnecessarily on S-1000 if you don't think you need it.

Looks great so far, I've got an ELX in Amber Fade, and for some reason the finish looks very different. It could be the fact that i have black hardware but w/e your looks awesome none-the-less. Congrats!

Yeah, I was looking at your kit the other day and the Amber Fade is much lighter than ours. And it's not just the hardware. Anyhow, they both look badass so it's cool.
