If anyone could answer these questions, it's much appreciated:
1. Is the only difference between the two series' is that one is lacqured and one is a wrap?
2. Are the optimounts removable (in case I wanted to mount a tom on a snare stand)
3. Would I have to wait longer on a 4 piece (12,14,16,22) compared to the five piece because its a special order, and is it even possible?
4. Is it possible to get a virgin bass?

1. Yes
2. Yes
3. I'm not really sure...I'm not the most knowledgeable person when it comes to ordering.
4. I don't think so, but you can always take out the mounting system yourself.

Ok, thanks bro.
Would it be possible to order it with a white reso instead of black (I'm thinking of getting natural finish and think it would look better), or would I have to order the reso seperately?
The suspension system is I.S.S, not Optimounts.

Yeah, the Visions have ISS not Optis. I misread.

Yeah, I don't know why I typed optimounts. However is it possible to remove the part of the ISS on the tom?

Yes. The whole ISS system is completely seperate from the tom. When changing drumheads, the ISS comes completely off. You can place it anywhere around the entire drum (incase there's like a visible scuff or something, you can hide it).

Hmm id idnt know the ISS mounts didnt touch the shell at all! Thats cool im thinking of moutning my 12" tom on a snare stand too. (Although i have a superstar kit not a vision) but i feel your woe i wish i had order a virgin bass drum, but its too late so i might have to deal with the hole on top. Anyways hope you enjoy your new vision!
ps. what is this vonversion kit thing you guys speak of? Does it only work for pearl kits or others as well?

It does touch the shell, it's just not attached to it. It just sits in between the hoop and the edge of the shell and comes right off when you take off the hoop.

There's a kit you buy that screws into the same holes that your tom holder sets in, you put on this plate and ta-da! virgin bass drum.

Pearl's BBC-1 plate. It masks the two holes and comes with screws/washers for fitting etc. It's chunky, so I didn't install mine. I sold it. But it IS a good product, i guess.

4. Is it possible to get a virgin bass?
Pearl has made a bass drum mounting cover plate. It seems that everyone has forgotten about it.

Thanks for the info on the ISS mount as well as the plate. Looks like I'll be ordering a Visions this summer, unless I decide to upgrade everything else first.

I worded that wrong.
I guess technically it doesn't touch the shell, it touches only the hoop.

yeah, the plate only works for pearl drums. Tama needs to offer something like this too; the only way you can get a virgin superstar kick is if you get the limited edition hyperdrive sets, or buy the 4 piece offered outside the u.s. market which comes with a virgin 24inch kick. I think you can still order it seperately, but as far as getting it with the kit initially, you'd have to buy it in pieces.
Bo: the clear birch is an incredible finish! wonderful woodgrain patterns. It would look sick with a white reso.
