Out of these four choices which would you choose on an MMX?

Emrald Mist w Gold HW
Wine Red w/ Gold HW
Midnite Fade w/ Black HW
Sunrise Fade w/ Gold HW

I would have to agree - esp on a sunrise fade kit (I own one and am not sure how the gold hardware would look with that colour). Gold hardware can look amazing on the right coloured kit

So of your choices I would say the midnight fade and black hardware

Since Emerald Mist is no longer a color choice in the Masters series, I'm gonna play the heretic and choose Ocean Sparkle w/Satin HW.

Midnite Fade w Black would be too dark for me. I would go for Gold or Chrome. But I would go for Midnite Fade.

Actually, I hate to say, none of the above.

Black mist with chrome--NOW you're talkin'!

Any chance we might one day see a whitewash finish? With chrome, or gold...

I appreciate the reply, Carl. Sounds like it would be worth looking into, though my wife seems to prefer Black Mist with chrome hardware. Oh well, at least I'll be allowed to practice...

Emerald mist with Black hardware would be my choice, then it would be emerald mist in gold. i mean, if im gonna get a great kit, i want something different than all the stock kits out there. but ne ways, was watching celebrity dismissed on MTV and i saw mike cosgrove, the drummer for alien ant farm. he had a DW in a emerald mist kind of finish with black hardware, lemme tell you SEXY........the drumset....not mike lol.

I'd go with Emerald mist with black or silver sparkle with either satin or black hardware. I dont know which would look nicer, luckily i dont have the money so i dont have to decide.

Id have to say midnight fade and chrome hardware. The chrome really brings out the fade. Looks amazing. With black hardware it would be too dark and with gold it would look too weird!

looking at the blue ocean sparkle, I just remembered something from when I was a kid. sparkle was called metal flake, and most drummers were trying to get kits that didn't have that, but now it seems that sparkle is very popular.

I love the Midnight Fade / Black hardware combo. For some reason the gold hardware chapens the look af any kit for me. I have and Emerald Mist MRX kit, and I would have never gone with the gold hardware. Good ol' chrome looks killer!

All of the Pearl finishes are truly amazing. But the only choice for me was BRX in Midnight Fade (and there is no such thing as too much chrome!).

I have been playing maple for the last 15 years and was ready for a change. I really love the sound of these birch drums. I also could not resist the 503 rack either. I was always intrigued by racks, so I figured I might as well go all the way with the new kit. I received them just before the holidays. Merry Christmas to me!!!

I ordered 10x8, 12x9, 14x11, & 16x13 mounted toms, and a 22x18 kick. After I received them, I had to have the 8x7 tom, so ordered it too. It only took about two weeks to get everything. Way to go Pearl. I must also give props to A.J. and Don at A.J.'s Pro Percussion. They were more than helpful and gave me the best price around (they even beat the ebay seller's prices). I can't recommend them enough. When you are making this kind of investment, you have got to be sure that you are dealing with a reputable dealer.

Remember, if it says Pearl, you know it Rocks!

While I like many of Pearl's colors. The moment I laid eyes on my dream kit I had to have it.

I loved it so much I bought it's twin with an added Matching snare that Kit number one was missing.

Take a Gander!!!!!!!!!

I have to agree with deathrowdog, tommyddrummer and some of the guys on the first page - for most colours, I still think chrome hardware looks classiest, the black and gold really don't do it for me.

Of the colours listed, I'd definitely go Midnight Fade, but with chrome - the black's just too dark, and if you're going to go coloured HW, EVERYTHING needs to be coloured - tom holders, rack, stands, head rims on bass heads, etc or you end up with a chrome/colour mix which would seem to defeat the point.

That said, I do quite like the satin finish chrome... but nothing beats lots of nice shiny chrome....

EXCELLENT POINT MAN! Very well put!

I'm looking for a totally black bb-3, ch-88(boom arm), xp-35 and xp-38 (clamps/mounts) Eliminator Hi-hat, and three 855b's (cym stands.) All in BLACK for my Diamond Gloss with black hardware. Your above comment eloquently hit with my feelings of the subject! GREAT!:D

Jeff-
Yeah, I tripped over it at the local shop 18x22" kick and all! Very lucky someone didn't buy it while I was at home drolling on the floor getting my check book...

I heard gold chrome looks great with all of the red colors offered. (Wine, Mohagonoy...) I do really like the limited edition orange kit though. I would gladdly get rid of my Midnight fade for it - except my midnight fade mrx plays and sounds better than any kit ive ever heard. SO HOW could I sell it? ((ALthough the "near field' close up sound of the mmx kit I have is totally KICK BUTT!!))

For plugged in but 'unmiked drum' situations (most of us...) I totally recommend the mrx - you cant go wrong. It's got better projection than the mmx.

Thanks for the encouragement

I have a lil of alot,,,,,,,,, Hey Carl, I saw you talkin bout 123 White Mist.
Seems if it was not big seller, it would be kind of rare. I am lucky to own 2 22x16, a 10x10,12x10,14x12,15x14, in MMX, and a MBX 16x16. Plus I am relacquering a 13x10 to match.

1st Choice, Silver Sparkle Kits I own
2nd Choice, Purple Storm or Cobalt Mist Kit I would Own and have owned

Opal White Kit I own
White Mist Kit I own
Emerald Mist Kit I own

I've got a set of Platinum mist BRX's on the way with black hardware. After seeing many pics on this forum, I must reluctantly state that I don't think I made the wisest of color choices. The pics I've seen look way too "natural" and not "platinum" enough for me or what I expected when I placed my order. But I've also read that you have to see the color in person to really appreciate it. I'm holding my breath until August....

I guess looking hindsight I should have either gone with Diamond Burst or Wine Red with gold hardware. What a beautiful kit with gold hardware, classy and eye-catching!! The "wow-factor" is off the charts!

You'll like it when you get it and see the Plat Mist up close in person. It isn't as natural as you think. It has a nice light pinkish hue to it and the top coat finish is very stunning. With black hardware (and believe me, I'm very partial to black hardware), it will look sweet! :D
