In the Export FAQ thread, I asked if Optimounts were compatible with Exports. Someone replied, saying
Yes, they might be require a little bit of bending to be perfect (not a lot mind you), but you should be able to use them.
If I were to put Optimounts on a Vision, would I need to bend them at all?

I thought they came with the old style opti's now anyway?

If the old style Optimounts are the ISS mounts, then yes they do.

I believe that the problem with exports and optimounts was the 14" tom, since that only had 6 lugs on the export. Since the visions has 8 lugs on that size, i don't think it will be a problem.

No, the old opti's, are just old opti's, not ISS.
Optimounts will work on most drums. I know for sure that they will not work on the 14" tom tom as it has six lugs, and the optimounts are only compatible with eight lugs on a 14". I also think that it wont work on the 8" for the same reason. You do not have to bend the optimounts for them to be compatible however. All you need to do is custom make a small bracket to extend the reach of the optimount. Other than the 14" tom tom(not floor tom) and the 8"(i think), all the drums can have the ISS replaced with optimounts.

i think it would still have 6 if it is using ISS, but correct me if im wrong.

Don't the 8 inchers have to have 5 lugs for an opti? If so, I think the Visions have 4 lugs or else ISSs wouldn't fit.

Unless I'm completely mistaken, 14" toms, rack and floor, on the Visions and ECX (not sure about the EX) are 8 lugs. That means that they'll work with Optimounts with no problems. I haven't seen it posted anywhere officially, but as RT just posted, I'm fairly certain that 8" toms would have to still be 4 lugs, due the space issues the ISS mounts have. However, as I just found out on my ELX, it's about a 5 minute fix to bend the Optis to fit an 8 with 4 lugs. Really, it'll fit with no modification, but part of it touches the shell and that's no good, so you want to bend it just a bit.

All you need to do is custom make a small bracket to extend the reach of the optimount.
How does one go about doing this?

wait..so even if a 8 or 14 inch tom are out of the quesition (which they are not) you STILL have to make a custom bracket for all the other toms that you want to put optimounts on? Man what a downer and an inconvenience! :(

No, they'll work on 8, 10, 12, 13 inch toms, and on 14 inch, 6 lug toms, without any modifications.
