Question for recording

My band has recorded a few cover songs but the problem is its a cubase file and i dont know how to convert it to mp3. Any suggestions.

do you get better quality if you export it as a .wav and then convert it later?

It all depends on the converter and the bit rate you encode with.

MP3 is a lossy file compression scheme, so any way you do it it won't sound as good as the original audio file. But you can get fairly close these days.
