They talk about how hard it is to shut down programs. On macs there a feature called force-quit, never fails. On PCs you gotta go through the stupid end program window that never actually loads.

Sure. Like he says, "if you know what you are doing..." Windows machines do all kinds of silly crap, even if you DO know what you are doing. At least Macs allow you to actually get your media work done without installing 14,000 drivers and updating them every month when your system crashes again.

Macs are good, and now they run Windows AND OSX. Since the release of about OS10.3, Macs have been superior in every way. The game manufacturers know that people are scared of macs because of all the untrue myths out there so they make games for Windows exclusively. They would run just as well if not better on a Mac, and you wouldn't have to dedicate your machine to be a "gaming only" machine.

At least Blizzard gets it. Warcraft runs great on my iMac, and when I need to download the latest patch it doesn't take hours. I have the patch in a couple of minutes and I'm playing.

I use Windows XP and OSX every day for my work. I bought all my licenses for Adobe and Macromedia (now Adobe) suites for Windows, though, so I don't get to do as much as I'd like to on my Mac. But when I don't have to run one of those programs, you better believe I'm on my Mac. And if I'm on my Mac and I need to run an executable someone sends me, I just pop open my XP virtual machine with Parallels (from my Boot Camp partition) and run XP natively while running OSX at the same time. No wonder Microsoft is giving away VPC 7 for free.

Gotta know the facts before you start ranting...

Yea, but what if you just want the simple goodness of a PC? Put it this way: You want to play games, so you spend $500 on a running PC. Now why would you want to spend $2,000 on a mac that also has windows, when you don't even want the features of a mac? You see? The argument over which one is better to get is useless.

Some people prefer macs.
Some prefere PC's.

Apple's had ad campaigns in 2001, with white backgrounds, and the same music, ect. Search "Apple switch ads." This guy is just doing a parody of those old ones, not mac vs pc.

Ahh, i see, i thought he meant OS X. Ive had my mac for over a year now, and most of what that guy says in the video is the opposite of what i have experienced, it works fluently for me. Did OS 9 suck that bad? I dont know sh** about the old macs.
If i want to play games, i just use my Xbox 360...wich is produced by Microsoft.

Seriously though, I'm on a PC right now, and I'm comfortable in both of their operating systems. I'm not going to say Macs are better, because each one has their specific quirks. I just enjoy working on Macs more.

And maybe we should have a debate forum, so we can have more silly topics like this.

Configure a home-built custom PC and it will have a better price/performance ratio than both Dell or Mac.

And you have to give it to Microsoft as well...there are so many possible configurations for PC hardware out there that there is bound to be conflicts along the line with drivers, etc. Apple has it easy...they configure their operating systems to work with the handful of preset configurations they sell. This is why PC's always appear to be unstable, while all the Mac users are always running smoothly. I, personally, hate being limited in my system architecture. If I want a new component, I don't want to pay for an overpriced, propietary peice of crap. I want to choose a brand, and pay the right price for it.

Thanks...it's just what I think. I'm probably going to get flamed up the ******* for it, but whatever. Windows XP is rock solid. I can do everything I want to do on it, and I don't need to drop another grand or so on a Mac just to 'emulate' that. I don't mind having to do minor maintenance - updating virus definitions, drivers, etc. It's child's play. Easy. Takes maybe a half an hour a month - tops. If you can't handle that, then...well, you're probably using a Mac.

My post was about Dell vs. Mac with comparable hardware. I never said anything about a custom built machine.

And of course pre-configured machines from a manufacturer are going to cost more than a home built system. They company has to make money, and most people don't know how (or don't want) to assemble a machine themselves.

What's your point?
