Even if they aren't some music shops will sell you one as a shell pack. I bought a Pearl Export Select in 99 as a shell pack and I belive that was not an option by Pearl at the time. At least I was told so by one of the music stores I went to. You might have to shop around, but I'm sure somebody would sell you a shell pack if that's all you wanted.

No, the kit was around $800 or so and I got the shell pack for $500.

If you got to a Samash or Guitar Center and tell them that you just want the shell pack, I know that if you start walking out the door with cash in hand, they'll do it.
