If anyone would like the actual .mp3s I'd be glad to send them so you can hear the full quality. Myspace kills the bitrate on .mp3s and makes everything pretty much sound the same. Nevertheless please check these out.. I'm pretty happy with the sound I've been getting recording everything at home.

I use:

- old Cakewalk recording software
- Aardvark q10 computer interface
- Audix D series tom/bass mics, f15 overheads and i5 on snare/guitar cabs
- cheap MXL condenser set for vocals and bass

Any comments/criticisms are welcome. My main problem so far is getting vocals to not sound so dry and seperate from the instruments. Seems like no matter how much EQing and effects I use, they always sound a bit too kereoke. I'm wondering if this is something a better vocal mic would fix, or perhaps its something that mastering helps, which is something I have not done with these recordings.

Enjoy!

Thats not too shabby man!!

The instruments sound great!! Theres a bit of bad high end though... It could just be my crap speakers, I'll have a listen through my monitors in a bit
The vocals however don't!
Hmmm I'm not sure how you could fix that... I'm not a master at the vocal side of things. I do the instrument tracks :)

O man, that i5 is rocking on those guitars. I'm really in a debate whether to get an i5 or an SM57 for snare/guitars.

"Chloroform" has a really good mix compared to the other two songs, still not awesome but pretty good. I thought the other two songs were good, but didn't sound too good in the recordings.

Great recordings.

As you said yourself, the only thing that needs improvement in the recording are the vocals.

Funny you would say that as I thought Chloroform came out the worst and In Reverie the best. Perhaps if you guys heard the non-myspace stream versions you would think the same.

Thank you for the compliments.. I think as far as a demo goes these sound plenty good.
