View Full Version : Recording an electric kit by usb.

I have a tascam with the 4 mic in lines and 2 guitar ins. How the **** am i going to plug my electric kit into my computer to record? Is the only solution micing it or since its electric is there some way to plug it in?

on your tascam you should have channels with 2 1/4" jacks, take the main outputs on the back of the drum brain and plug them into the tascam, there ya go.

I'm not sure exactly what equipment your using but...Buy two MIDI cables, and if you have a supporting program, record it using MIDI; and use the audio outs (left and Right) for monitoring, but i guess you could just monitor your playing through the headphone-out on your digital set. Does this help at all?...

yeah you could record the MIDI and use it to play a drum sampler, such as BFD. That would sound realy good as the sample bank is awesome.

As surf said, just use the OUTs on yoru drum set and run it to a channel on the tascam.
