my band Monopolice recorded song, it's calld made in china,

Good playing, but the drums sound very flat. Not bad for a demo though.

I hate the crash sounds. The bass drum needs serious EQ. The singer sounds whiney. Snare sounds pretty good. Maybe a little reverb added.

The song just sounds empty. Needs some "body" to it.

I don't understand, the two parts are the same song? Why is there a huge pause in-between?

You sound really uncomfortable in the second half.

When the electric guitar comes in on the second half it sounds horrible. Chords are clashing with the rest of the song.

With a little work on those things it could be decent track. It's got potential.

Hehe :p . Thanks for the comments, negative or positive...both good. Actually the singer made this thread. And yes the drums sound dead and the whole sound is kinda "closed" in something.
The long pause was not supposed to be so long and yes my drumming is very unstable and not good in the second chapter...Maybe because we have never written this chapter, we only jam in like 2 minutes. :o

The main reason for the bad sound is that this is a demo, we used 3 bad mic´s I think. We never finished mixing it...the singer mixed it rough(he´s the only one who knows how to do this and he´s unexperienced)

We know a guy who is actually very good in recording and stuff, and we were going to get him to mix this for us but we are so f****** lazy...

I´m using on the record:
All Paiste
18" Rude crash ride as a ride and crash.
16" Alpha crash.
13" sound edge signature
18" china Alpha.
10" splash Alpha.
The Rude does not fit in so I swapped him later for 18" 2002 crash and also bought 20" signature dry heavy ride.

And we have actually been playing together since April 2006 and I´ve been playing drums for 4-5 years so that might explain something. :D
But enough of excuses... :cool:
We must record something to get responses and comments to see where we stand...
