If you haven't already seen me on this board...I am new to recording. I am using a Firepod and Mixing with Cubase LE Software. I am finally beginning to discover some of the things it has to offer, but before I dig further into it I was wondering what kind of tips and tricks everyone has to making their drum set sound awesome with Cubase?
Then I also had a question for any of you sound experts or Cubase Veterans...I am almost happy with the sound of my drum set. I am using the Audix Fusion 6 Pack Mics and everything is sounding fantastic. My only problem is that I would like to distinguish the snare sound from the bass drum sound a little bit more. I find that once I plug my recorded drums into music my deep, brass shell snare drum is hardly distinguishable from my bass drum. Anyone have any tricks on how I can give my snare a little more liveliness without switching snares? Or just some kind of effect or option I can plug into it to distinguish it a bit more? I will also be experimenting with new heads...but if their is an immediate option to make it sound a little more distinguishable while trying to keep the realness of the sound that would be best.
