while tweakheadz can be a useful resource, it certainly isnt a professional perspective into ALL the topics "the guide" covers. They also make ludicrous claims such as "with a modest investment [in gear], you can EXPECT to rival the sound the bigboys in the big studios get."
while home recording technology is advancing faster than anyone can keep up, there are a few major differences between recording at home in the spare bedroom, and a purpose built professionaly designed studio with an engineer/staff with many years of experience. It is that difference that dictates the results you will achieve.
