Here we go...

Presonus Firepod

M-Audio Bx5a monitors

Shure ksm27

Shure sm57(2)

Shure Beta 52

Shurse ksm109(2) -(These are what I have picked out for drum overheads for now. I was looking at the SP c4's too but i just dont know. It's not that i'm a shure mic freak but i've always liked their sound and durability. SUGGESTIONS on overheads would be a delight! Nothing over the price of these though.)

..And an assortment of cables, stands, pop filter, mopads, and what not... Any comments or suggestions are always appreciated. Thanks!~

Sounds good so far.

What are you recording INTO.

Also, what program are you using?

As for now i just plan on using cubase le. But i'm sure i'll upgrade quickly. I'm confused on what you mean on recording into?

Sorry if I wasn't clear.

I meant like the specs on your computer.

i do believe that cubase LE is limited to recording either 2 or 4 simultaneous inputs.

I think that you can change the VST settings to allow 8 simultaneous inputs, which I read somewhere.

I can't believe how similar your mic set up is to mine!!! Try the KSM as your overheads as well. I think you'll be impressed. One thing that really helped in my studio was that I built movable isolation walls just out of 2x4's, foam, and old blankets, mounted on casters. They don't look pretty, but they sure help with the overall presence on recordings!

Hey sorry.. I'm not a real techy guy so i guess I can't really give you good computer specs but right now i'm set to use about a 5 year old HP comp. It should work out pretty good. And Jacobthetounge, i'll definately look into the blanket thing when i start recording. Also I hope I can use 8 tracks, i'll talk to a friend of mine who just got a firepod and has an insane studio setup. He'll hook me up big time with help on my project. Thanks, keep the replies coming!~

I love my firepod. Never had any problems in the 8 months I've owned it. I think Cubase LE is limited to 4 tracks at once...SE can be had though for around $130 (Not sure about US pricing). I use SONAR and love it :D

For editing you cant have enough different sources of listening, so i would deff, get Fostex T20RP headphones... there THE most accurate ones on the market...oh ya I do like your mic set up, but have to say i am a digidesign fan born at heart, i can't get away from Pro Tools.
