This thread is for anyone using a version of Pro Tools. Whether it's Pro Tools LE, M Powered or HD, this is the thread to ask questions and offer advice. Feel free to post songs you've worked on in PT as well.
I've been using Pro Tools M-Powered with the M-Audio Firewire 1814 on my 17" MacBook Pro for the past 2 months and I'm really digging it.

the tempo map at the top of the edit window.
you might ahve to set it to viewable, and use the pencil tool or the hand tool to create breakpoints, and then enter your new value. you should be able to use the pre-shaped pencil tool defaults like parabolic curve and whatnot.
ill check it out for you and let you know exactly.

Pro Tools is the best... I've used the Digi 001, Digi 002, and the rack, Pro tools 6.4 and 7.1... This program is the best for any serious recording engineer. Even though i use this program on a daily bases... can you tell be how to remove the "breakpoint" markers from the timeline...they only get in my way.

ALT+click will remove automation and tempo breakpoints. You can tell if you are doing it correctly if you have the pencil tool selected(F9), when you hold alt and move the pencil over a breakpoint the pencil turn around and you see the eraser.
To remove Timeline markers(at the top of the edit window) select the hand tool(grabber if you want to be precise), click and hold, and drag them off the timeline and a little garbage pail icon will appear.

Oh, just for kicks, i am willing to do short(less than 1 minute) videos for very specific ProTools Functions on my days off. So if explanations arent clear, i will do that if requested.

Thanks for the pencil tip. I'll give that a shot. For what I was going for on the song that made me ask, I was able to just reduce the tempo by 5 bpm each measure for four measures and it sounds ok, but could be more fluid.
Another question that comes to mind is this:
Every time I use T-Racks, I have to reset all the settings when I open and close a session. I've saved my presets, so I can easily reload them but I'm wondering why this plug acts this way and I haven't noticed any other ones doing that. Do I really have to re-load all the settings each time I open or do you think I am missing something?
BTW, I'm using the bundled version of T-Racks that came with LE.

I'm also a Digi Certified Operator.
Also have used just about every Digi interface/hardware.
Currently tracking an EP on HD3, 7.2 software, and a D-Control.

So, anyone else rocking the Pro Tools setup? I've been recording quite a bit over the past few weeks and I couldn't be much happier with Pro Tools M-Powered and my Firewire 1814 by M Audio.

Yeah, my band of 30-somethings has been writing originals and just playing around with recording. Our guitar player finally picked up a Digi002 rack with PT LE so we are just getting into it. For me, I have a converted e-kit at home, and wanted to be able to try out EZDrummer, BFD, or DFHS, so I picked up a M-Audio firewire 410 interface and got M-powered for Christmas. I now have EZdrummer and the DFH expansion pack running. Studio monitors, followed by a nice laptop, a keyboard controller, and then maybe a couple decent mics should round out a nice little home studio.
I am slowly learning by tinkering, I also picked up a book called ProTools Ignite, which starts at the very beginning, seems good so far.

Nice. Does that book cover stuff in Pro Tools M-Powered? Does it go way in depth? I really want to learn the ins and outs of this program so I'm looking for whatever I can find.

It basically starts as if you were a novice. It has a note in the first chapter that states that the entire book applies to M-powered, with the exception of any brief parts about video, which M-powered does not do.
Here is a link, there is another book that is more advanced and costs 2x as much.

Anytime! I am enjoying starting from square 1. Even though I was already able to get going with PT, this fills in some of the little things that I hadn't given much attention.
