Minimum requirements

Hey there,

I've just purchased a Tascam usb interface, my brother lent me some mics and a behringer 16 track mixer.
The question is: I have a Dell Inspiron 5160 Laptop with 1.86GHz and 512 MB of RAM. Is this enough for some basic recording?? :confused:

I'm also thinking about getting a Macintosh Portable one, Are they any good? Everybody say they're better equiped than PC's... True or false?? :cool:

That should be fine. I used my old Dell Dimension P4 1.4 GHz that has the old PC133 RAM and it worked fine. It chugs a little if you add FX or reverb to tracks, but the actual recording worked fine.
