Hey guys this is my first post and Im at a dilemma. At the church I play at we just moved to a new building and i have a drum house-riser,plexiglass, isolation foam, the whole bit. The problem is its so freaking loud in there when im playing cause we play in a rock environment. Ive decided to envest in some isolation earphones. Ive heard the shure e's are really good. They suggested e2's or e3's and said that there is a substantial difference between the two. What im wondering is: Is the difference really worth the extra $90.

I liked the E2s a lot, but the E3s just sound far cleaner, a lot less "muddy" sounding.

Havn't used either.
We have about 10 pairs of Sony MDR- 1502 headphones at our church (the $90 Studio Standard ones..) and they work great.ß

Yes, the E3's are fantastic headphones. I use them and they have great bass response. I love them.

I have E3s, zero complaint about it.
Sound's very clear and the full spectrum is present.
Of course the lowest bottom-giga-low end isn't present but it doesn't matter !

I prefer the E4's but if It was between the e2's and e3's I would go E3's.

i own both e2's and e5's
the E2's are decent sounding, but not audiophile quality. They serve they purpose for live work, and studio work, and sound fine with an ipod, but my e5's just are amazing at EVERYTHING!!!
