I would highly suggest picking up "Modern Recording Techniques" by David Miles Huber. Tons of info on just about everything, and easy to understand.

"Professional Microphone Techniques" by the same guy

"The Mixing Engineer's Handbook" by Bobby Owsinski

Those books can be picked up at most large book stores, or on Amazon.

Do a search on google for "Home Recording" and you'll get a ton of sites.

There is probably going to be some sort of manuel or intruction book that comes with all your things, I would suggest reading it.

I would, as a matter of principle, take any information about recording that you read online with a grain of salt. Often times it can be someones opinion stated as fact.

true as everybody's recording setup/roomsize/kit configuration is different.

that doesnt make something an opinion.
many on this forum, and people in general refuse to accept that alot of information on the internet has little credibility, and therefore should not be taken at face value.

Why don't you get the "Home Recording For musicians for dummies" book?
It's a GREAT book if you're new to recording! :)
