Does anyone have any samples of the following mics, either before or after EQ or effects have been added, but preferably before.

Audix D6
Shure Beta52
AKG D112

Which do you think picks up the most low end frequencies out of the three? I want a really solid low end thud/punch that could kick you in the balls from 5 rows back :D

Thanks :)

Demfer or Den would be a good one to ask about this.
I use the AKG D112, but I haven't tried the others.

A side by side comp of the D6 and the D112. As well, the sm57 and the audix micro-d.

The soundclip there is me playing my Yamaha Recording Customs with a Audix D6 mic (no EQ or whatever, completely raw)

Thanks for all the help guys, sounds like the D6 is what I'm looking for.

Does anyone have any sound comparisons of different tom mics or overheads like in post #3? I'm totally lost when it comes to overheads ...

audix d2 for tom mic! i love this mic. i just picked up a used one on ebay for $40. it had a little wear, but it sounds perfect. it has great warmth, and a really tight controlled punch.

The audix is a good choice although i use the akg. For overheads i have 2 rode NT5's for overheads.... they are amazing.
