Ludwig still make the p85 that would originally be on your snare, there are plenty about and you can either get them from a shop or off eBay.
Otherwise look at the Ludwig p86 which is a gladstone style strainer and will fit as well.
There are also trick strainers with an adaptor plate available on eBay, this will cost much more than the other two options.

No problem, you will love the acrolite.
here are some websites where you can buy the p85:

I'm looking to replace the strainer on a blacrolite I got recently, would really like a dunnett R-class, but it seems like there aren't any existing adaptors for it on the acro.
Seen the Trick ones on ebay, but it's too chunky looking for my tastes.
Anyone?

The problem with the Ludwig P85 is that the drilling is so wide that there really isn't anything that fits that drilling other than the P85. The P85 isn't the best snare throw, but it isn't the worst either and they can be had for $20 depending on where you go. That reminds me, I should probably replace the snare throw on mine - it doesn't move smoothly anymore and you have to fiddle with it a bit to get it back on if you have turned it off.

A little bit of white lithium grease on the moving parts makes a big difference on the P-85s function.

I might give that a try, although I already lubed the action. I think that it's just worn out. The drum, prior to my refinish on it, had been used and abused for quite some time.

Check it for being bent. Fixed one for a friend. Was slightly bent from being dropped and he didn't have money for a p-85.
A replacement doesn't cost much tho and would be quicker.

Thanks man! I'll give it a look and see if that might be an issue.

Dunnett do make the R class with a cutout for the bead, I've seen photos and discussions about them on Drumsmith. try amailing Ronn, I'm sure he'll tell you where you can get one from.

Even though Dunnett makes the R-Class throw with the cutout, I doubt if it would match the drilling. The P85 has a wider drilling than just about any other snare throw. Besides, why put a $50 throw on an Acrolite? What are you really going to gain? Sure, it would look nice, but so would a brand new P85, (which is $30 less expensive) and they both serve the same purpose.
