similar to an mhx (4-ply mahogany)....but with rounded bearing edges and white marine pearl finish.
A limited edition mahogany kit that came out a little before the reference series.
Yes I remember these. I think Andy at Massmusic had a few

Yep... was released at Summer NAMM in July 2004... MHX shells with rounded bearing edges, a precursor to the reference series. Color #405 Vintage Marine Pearl... 30 kits (10, 12, 14, 22), 30 snares (14x5.5), 10 8x7's and 10 16x16's... you can special order add ons in the same finish (or at least you used to be able to)...

Those Limited Editions recieved a great review in MD Magazine a year or two ago when they were first released. Mahogany, rounded edges, Marine finish...Awesome!
I would love a kit like this, just in club sizes. 2K isn't a bad going price for those. The winner will be very happy I'm sure.

this isnt really the greatest picture i guess but its how i have my set set up. actually its quite different now. this is how it was. ill put another pic up of how it is now
My local music store has one of those kits. I was tapping around on it and was shocked at how smooth the toms sounded. I didn't realise the bearing edges were rounded, but it must have made a difference because they sounded better than MHX's I played around on in the past.
I'm going to have to go back and do some investigating.
