For university, I'm going to be buying an Arbiter flats lite kit (£299 from Argos) and fitting it with Stagg cymbals. Not the best maybe, but they'll do the job and they're good if you don't want to take more expensive stuff with you!

I need some reccomendations though... Being in a dorm I want to keep them smaller, the maximum size would be 20" but for the ride only... everything else would max at 16".

I am looking for:

12/13" hats / 6/8" splash / 14/15/16" crashes / 12-16" china / 18/20" ride.

I like a brighter sound, but I need cymbals better for quieter volumes here, but can still project if I gig at all. If needs be I can silence them for practice.

Any suggestions are appreciated!

I would say have a look at the Black Metal range for the hats, DH range for the splashes and crashes, SH range for the china and maybe a Black Metal ride?

whats your budget?
There are normally quite a few staggs on ebay

Well I'm doing full tiume employment for a year... so I'd say for the drums, total spending allowance will be around £900... I need a lappers as well at about £800, I'll be paying tax next year, and I need a lot for uni itself... Supllies n crap...
