the whole point of it is to sound more like a woodsnare with the crack ofa metal snare. maybe if you can afford an ultracast sell it on and buy a new reference brass snare

OK, lemme try to translate...
"Does anybody know if there is a drum head that would help my ultracast snare sound more like a brass snare? I would like to have a deftones/tool/messhuagha sort of sound. I'm influenced by drugsNalchohol. Or maybe a ring for the head? I'm not sure.
I've had three 6 piece green burst SESSIONS with ultracast 6.5x14 snares for about 8 months now. I never actually took the time to actually tune my drums."
I think that's what he's trying to say.

It's common courtesy and proper PDF etiquette to only use the King's English, or a reasonable facsimilie thereof assuming its not your native tongue.
Try again and you might actually get some real answers.

Nope, the Ultracast does not sound like brass.
ultracast snares are DRY sounding unlike BRASS which have nice overtones .

talking about drugs and alcohol . . .
You should lay off them
closest you might get to the brass sound is single ply clear head with a dot, cranked pretty tight

I had a guy that wanted me to build him a 10 ply Maple snare and he wanted me to build it to sound like his Rodgers steel snare. I had to tell him that he would not get a wood snare to sound like his Vintage Steel snare. Plus why would someone want two snares that sounded alike??? Anyway, what I am getting at, is if you want a Brass Snare sound. Just get a Brass Snare. That is the best way.
