The core of our Adams Philharmonic Cloyd Duff Series Timpani feature Hammered Cambered Copper Bowls for the ultimate in bowl shape, size, sound and tone quality. Also included are powder-coated struts, crossed-shaped lacquered-base, and chrome plated countertops, tension rods and centering holders for unsurpassed stability and durability.
The Dresden style pedal mechanism specifically designed to the specifications of timpani legend Cloyd Duff, features a ratchet free locking mechanism so no ratchet teeth to line up or possibly slip, thus making tuning completely accurate and secure. Its Patented split rocker arm relieves pressure from both the frame and bowl, resulting in the smoothest pedal system available today that is extremely smooth and noiseless while offering continuously adjustable pedal pressure that is easily set to each players preferred pedal response. The fine tuner is located on player's side for ease in use, and allows for up to a 1-octave adjustment and is extremely accurate
All Timpani are mounted on casters for transport and are easy to operate; the two-way wheel brakes hold wheels from both turning and rotating for secure stage-placement. The drum-tilting mechanism allows player to set drum angle for a desired player position
All Philharmonic tympani offer a Choice of Remo Custom Timpani heads with insert rings or Super Kalvo calf heads for the best quality, best sounding plastic or calf heads available.
