so i have a really cool vintage slingerland from the 70s that my dad gave to me. I love it, how it looks, n it actually still sounds pretty good, but the hardware sucks. the tom clamp is totally busted, the floor tom leg clamp thing is missing wing nuts( i think thats wut theyre called), its missing one bassdrum rim, is there any way to replace any of this, im not sure if they make any of it any more, or am i screwd? 00**

Ebay, no question. I'm pretty sure you'll find just about any part you require. try to keep to the original spec and keep the kit authentic. ( no hole drilling etc etc ). if you're not too fussy, most bass hoops will do a decent job as long as the colour matches.

good luck, clean that kit up, a vintage Slinger is a beautiful thing

Reproduction wing screws for the floor tom leg mount and a few other pieces can be gotten from Jim Petty (http://www.jp2creations.com/).

The bass hoop and tom mount will need to come from eBay. They are not hard to find so don't get in a hurry and pay too much.

if it just has one hi tom and one lo tom, you could always put the hi tom in a snare stand to the left of the bass drum and not worry about it. the wingnuts might be found at your local hardware store, bring one of the existing old ones to compare. Otherwise you can buy a suspension mount for the floor tom that works like a RIMS mor ISS mount, except you put 3 legs on it, but it attaches around the tension rods. Bass drum rims are very expensive new. I'd look at e-bay, and don't worry about anything except diameter size. If it's the wrong color, or metal, or crappy, just put it on the batter side where no one but you will see it. Unless you're one of those crazy collectors that must have everything like original. I prefer to fool the common onlooker.
