New for 2003 our Export Select Series drums feature a new exterior clear UV (ultraviolet) lacquering process that provides an ultra-strong extremely glossy finish that resist yellowing, cracking, and can be applied in thinner coats providing an increase in both sustain and resonance.
You will also notice that the natural wood finishes look cleaner and clearer, since the UV finishes do not add color the wood.
This new exterior finish is practically solvent-less, so it's more earth friendly by drying in seconds, to then offer greater protection over traditional solvent based finishes.
ELX now has two new high-end fade finishes including #295 Ruby Fade and classic #293 Autumn Fade as shown below. These finishes include the inside of the bass drum hoops done in natural wood for a cutting edge vibe. Other standard lacquer finishes include; #273 Blue Mist; #274 Amber Mist; #279 Cobalt Mist for a total of five exciting colors.
With another award under its belt for "Percussion product of the Year" giving by a major music industry magazine, you will see these drums are moving closer to true high end, and drummers the world over get the benefit of a truly great drum set of the price.
