I dont have pictures of the snare but I just bought ludwig at a yard sale it was in great condition but the heads were torns up and the snare cord was shot. So I decided to take it a part to look at the condition on the inside of the drum and I saw a stamp that siad 1960 on it and I was just wondering what I might have on my hands?

If it's a big marching snare like a a 14x16 it's not too valuable. If it's a metal shelled drum, it could be a real chrome over brass supraphonic, which is extremely rare and valuable. It would have 10 art deco looking angular rectangular-ish lugs on it in that case. If it's a wood shelled drum and is 5x14 with 8 "bowtie" lugs, you have a jazz festival. Very sought after drum. That's what Ringo had. In black oyster pearl I've seen these bring close to $1500 If it is wood with 6 bowtie lugs you have a pioneer. Not nearly as valuable, but still a great drum. Post pics if you have 'em. I know it's not an acrolite because the prototype to them came out in '62. This I know cuz I have one! And sure lucked out getting it!

erwinner, thanks for the info. I now know my '66 white marine pearl is a jazz festival.
Thanks.

xxbugxx, when you get some pic's contact The Vintage Drum Center @ vintagedrums.com They can look at the pic's and give you a value.

post some pics, mr. bug.
you too, crazyredhead!
the black oyster pearl might bring twice what your snare will bring, solely on the ringo connection. But I think the WMP is MUCH prettier. I just bought a gretsch WMP from someone on the forum!

Lookie there! I don't have me a little red dot for my rep!

woohoo, I guess everyone I've pi$$ed off has forgotten about me!
