Sry did'nt know what forum to post this in. I was wondering How hard should Sabian B8's be hit? Cause I play Pretty heavy semi-fast beat and I was wondering how hard to go without breaking them. also how big are "Hard-core" Drum-sets? Just wondering cause I only use a 4 piece and i'm wondering if my set is small.

By hard-core I guess I mean a mix of metal punk and rock.

Thanks.

People will have mixed feelings on how hard you should hit, but I think you should hit as hard as you normally do as long as it isnt way overdoing it. If you change your technique to where your playing softer than you feel you should that can cause alot of problems elsewhere. If you have good technique most cymbals can take a good whack. B8's are lower end cymbals though and they may not can take the beating you give out. If they cant you'll find out rather quickly. I'm not saying that if you hit your cymbals as hard as you can that you should keep on, and keep buying different cymbals everytime yours break. Good technique with a hard hit and everything is good. Bad tech. and a med hit= BAD, Good tech. and a monsterous hit= Bad. See what I'm saying. A cymbal can only be so loud. Find out how hard a hit it takes to make the cymbal its loudest and go from there. If you find that the cymbals reach their loudest by hitting it softer than you normaly hit, you have the wrong cymbals. If you find they reach their loudest by hitting only slightly harder or as hard as you normaly hit, I think they will be fine as long as your technique is good. Cymbals are like drum heads if you dont hit hard enough it dosent sound right, if you hit too hard it dosent sound right either.

B8's should be hit so hard they no longer reside at your kit!
Sorry I couldn't resist.. I absolutely hate them!!!
