I am contemplating purchase of a used set of Session Prestige.
Wondering about the differences between Custom and Prestige.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the only difference is the wood. The Prestige Selects of a few years ago are maple/mahoghany/maple. The new Session Customs are 100% maple. I have a Prestige, and I can tell you, it's one helluva set! :)

I also have the Presige Session line (1997) with the maple/mahogeny ply's. If you can pick them up for a fair price, DO IT!!! They have been a very reliable and responsive kit for me, especially live:)

Customs were straight maple, Selects are 7 ply, alternating maple and mahogany.

I own a Select and it's one of the best sounding kits I've ever played. I don't think I'll ever get rid of it.

Drummin' Man,
I own a Prestige Session Select, maple/mahogany, made in about 1999, and i'm over the moon with it. Its a great kit. So GO FOR IT you won't regret it.

when was the last year they stopped making the session prestige line? cuz mine has the ISS mounts on them and i dont think that mechanism is too old is it? and my durms i bought brand new from someone here in nashville, they had never been taken out of the boses, so does this mean they were brand new? or just old and not taken out haha, thanks

I believe they stopped making them in 2000 or 2001. Mine is a '99, maple/mahoghany, and has the ISS mounts. When I was looking through MD magazine a couple of years later, I saw they had changed up to all maple.
