what are the specs on this set and what modern set can it be compared to?

I'm not sure, but I'm going to take a guess and say it's an old Sessions?

Those are Pearl's mid 80's MLX "All Maple Shell" pre-Masters kit (compares to the MRX series in current the Masters line).

Don't know the exact spec's but those are 22x16 kit drums with a 16x16 floor. The tom sizes look slightly bigger depth then conventional sizes. Anyway, good hi-end professional kit.

worth keeping to. Look at the badge? Made in the USA. I remember Gene and Hook stating that for a few years, they manufactured their kits here. Now of course its manufacturing is done in Taiwan.

Yeah, that series of USA made Pearls was the darn near, if not the top of the line in the early 80s. They made them in Nashville (if I'm not mistaken) to supplement the supply from Japan-which couldn't keep up with the demand in the states! An old job I worked had a 24" bass drum that was an exact match to your drums, it sold on eBay for $325!

These would be (relatively) compared to MRX drums. The lugs and mounts are not as nice as Masters, but the shells are!

Those are C-052 lugs which would put them between 1984 and 1987.

I have the same set -- MX according to the catalog. My sizes are 26" bass, 15" mounted tom, 18" floor tom, and 14" x 8" Snare (die cast hoops). Super hoops on the toms.

Mine is a black wrap.

I have been trying to get an idea of what it is really worth.
