Like, lets see Bonham's Classic Stainless Steel set...or say Stanton More on vintage, or Jon Theodore on Classic Stainless Steels

and lets see some Bruford, he had some kickass sets (especially Yes era)

Billy Martin of Modeski, Martin, and Wood plays 60s vintage Rogers kit. and he can play anything he wants, recording star that he is. He says he found them in a used music store and likes them better than anything else he has played (Modern Drummer, April 2001).

yeah, martin's kit is even a budget line Rogers! Sounds great, though.

Not sure if this counts but the kick in the front of the pic (with the black tape on it) is a vintage Gretsch.

Sorry to correct you, but this drum is the only one in the picture that is no Gretsch! ;)

in the first bruford picture, his batter head says ludwig on, but they are not ludwigs are they? the lugs look like haymans or something like that.

Actually, he was using a "blend" of stuff back then....the kick was, in fact, a 22" maple finish Ludwig. The toms were Hayman, as you noticed. He was using a 6 1/2" x 14" SuperSensitive for snare; he used that up until the Tama days, starting sometime in late '80 or '81.

I looked through my computer, but couldn't find any pics of Jon Theodore's Ludwig, so here are a couple of pics of John Bonham:

What do Steel drums (not snares) sound like anyway? probably not very good, because pretty much no new companies make them.
