Ummm, at first their were only royalstars and Imperialstars in 1974, in 1976 i believe Swingstar were included in the product line aswell as Superstars.

Royalstar are 9ply 9mm Mahogany Shells with an inner coat of Shina/Zola to protect the drums from climate changes (so they say) they were equivilant to what Rockstars/New Superstars are, a "mid range" kit today, if in very good condition, you could call it a collectors item, and the right person may pay alot of coin, if shabby, maybe USD$150-300 and in NZ where i live maybe NZD$500-600

Mine was used in "Hellcat Records" a division of "Epitaph Records" where many famous punk-rock bands like Rancid, Us Bombs, Dropkick Murphey's and early Greenday played and recorded on the kit.

I will get pics up later I'm hoping to get around 800USD

****, you're kit was owned by Hellcat? So that means it was technically owned by Tim Armstrong. But how did Tre Cool play on it? They were on Lookout! Records....

This is my Star drumkit. The Star drum company changed it's name to TAMA in 1974. That's also why most TAMA kits are named something with star - for instance Rockstar, Swingstar, Artstar etc.

EDIT: Here's a link if anybody wants to know a little about the TAMA history: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tama_Seisakusho
