If anything, Danny Carey's is a knock off of Pearl. ;)

Well seeing how these came out in the 80's I believe... The idea did come from Pearl.

I feel like writing that guy and popping his bubble..He says no one has um..Thats funny..I have 2 sets, one being the rare blue one..oh well, someone bid 6 bills, and it wasnt me.. =)
They were around in the mid 80's..hard plastic shells with hard rubber tops..
The kick pad was the BP2
The tom pad was the TP2
HH pad was the HP1
Cymbal pad was the CP1
There was this cool pad we made with 4 pads on it called the QP1
These babies were MIDI, and blew away the Simmons pads of that same time.
We made a pad expander called the PE8 which expanded your kit to 16 pads.
There was also a KS1 kit selector, to switch which kit you wanted to use.
We also had a MP1 mute pedal.
The TUR1 was the rack unit we made..It held the SC40 and the SC20 module.

According to my archives, the Drum-X was introduced in 1985 and discontinued in 1988. The list price for the pads, brain, and cables was $1299.

The look similar to Simmons pads - guess that was the style at the time tho...

Danny Carey is boring. I'd rather listen to Marco Minnemann. Marco is also alot more fun to play.

While I think Danny does some cool things, I would rather listen to Marco. Just personal preference.

YOUR BOTH WRONG
They look like a copy of Simmons drums, which im sure they are. Danny plays mod'ed vintage simmons.

Actually, Simmons striking surface was hard as a rock, whereas the Pearl had a softer rubber center.

I wouldn't mind having a set of those.
I also wouldn't mind having a set of triangular Rolands either.
